Our COVID-19 Protocols

We have been working hard to implement new policies and adapting our clinic to ensure a clean and safe environment. The following are some changes that you may notice on your next visit:

  • We have implemented new cleaning protocols that include
    • Medical grade cleaning solution on all surfaces and equipment
    • 10 – 15 minute breaks between patients to allow for proper disinfection
    • Staff are required to wash or sanitize their hands between every patient
  • Our staff will be screened daily for COVID-19 symptoms
  • Our staff will always be wearing masks in addition to face shields and/or safety glasses
  • Our staff have access to all required personal protective equipment
  • We have eliminated our front waiting area to maintain physical distancing
  • We have installed plexiglass barriers on exam room equipment
  • More hand sanitizer dispensers have been made available throughout the clinic in addition to our two sinks in our patient care rooms

  • We are currently not accepting walk-ins, all patients must have a scheduled exam
  • We ask that only the patient present for their exam, no guests or other family members are permitted to accompany you to your exam
    • Exceptions will be made for 1 guest in the following cases:
      • Minor patient under 18 years old
      • Patient does not speak English and required a translator
      • Patient requires a caregiver
  • We ask that patients complete the required registration forms and COVID-19 screening questions and submit them electronically to us prior to your exam
  • We may ask you to wait outside the store until we can ensure proper social distancing in the clinic
  • We will take your temperature
  • We will ask you to wash your hands upon entering the clinic
  • Please arrive with your own mask that covers your nose and mouth
    • All patients over 2 years of age are required to wear a mask in the clinic
  • Retinal imaging for all patients which allows for a comprehensive assessment of ocular health while minimizing time required to be in close contact in the exam room (this service is NOT covered by OHIP)
  • Use contactless payment methods (credit, debit or e-transfer) when possible

Please note that we have a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you do not attend your appointment or cancel with fewer than 24-hours notice, you will be charged a fee of $60 for the missed appointment which will be billed directly to you via our online payment system. This “No-Show” fee is NOT reimbursable by your insurance company.

For information on our appointment policies, please review this PDF, which outlines protocols for everyone’s safety.
